Joshua stood at the edge of a new season, tasked with leading a whole nation into unfamiliar territory. Moses, his mentor, was gone. The people were watching him. Fear would have been the easy, natural response. But God didn't ask Joshua to feel fearless before moving forward—He commanded him to be strong and courageous, and then backed that command with a promise: "the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
That same promise reaches into your life today. Maybe you're facing a decision that feels too big, a change you didn't ask for, or a task that seems beyond your strength. God's word to Joshua wasn't dependent on Joshua's confidence—it was rooted in God's presence. Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's trusting that you are not walking into anything alone. Wherever you go today—into a hard conversation, a new chapter, a waiting room, an unknown future—God has already gone ahead of you.
Be strong doesn't mean pretend everything is fine. It means lean into the truth that the same God who parted rivers and toppled walls for Joshua is present with you now. Let that truth steady your hands and quiet your heart. You don't need to be dismayed by what you cannot see, because you can trust the One who sees it all and has promised never to leave.
