Faith is a curious kind of certainty. It does not wait for proof to arrive before it trusts, nor does it need to see the whole road before taking the next step. Hebrews tells us faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen — a quiet assurance that God is working even when our eyes cannot confirm it.
Think of the farmer who plants a seed in the dark soil, trusting a harvest he cannot yet see. Or the sailor who sets a course by stars rather than the shore already behind him. Faith works the same way in our hearts. It leans into promises not yet fulfilled, convinced that the God who spoke them is faithful to bring them to pass.
Some days our faith feels strong, and other days it feels like a whisper. But even a small faith, placed in a great God, is enough. He does not ask us to manufacture certainty on our own strength — He simply asks us to trust Him with what we cannot yet see, believing that His unseen hand is already at work for our good.
