Put God's Kingdom Before Everything Else

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
— Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

There's a quiet freedom in getting our priorities right side up. So often we chase provision first, hoping peace and purpose will follow. Jesus flips that order entirely, inviting us to seek Him first and trust that everything else we need will find its way to us in His timing.

This isn't a call to neglect our responsibilities or stop planning for tomorrow. It's an invitation to loosen our grip on control and place God at the center of our decisions, our schedules, and our hearts. When His kingdom becomes our first concern, our anxieties about the rest begin to shrink in comparison to His faithfulness.

Think of a garden where the gardener tends the soil before worrying about the harvest. God asks us to tend our relationship with Him first, trusting that He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. As we make room for Him at the center of our lives, we discover that He is more than able to handle everything we were carrying alone.

Today's prayer
Lord, help me seek You first today, above every worry and want. Teach my heart to trust that as I pursue Your kingdom, You will faithfully provide for everything else. Thank You for Your constant care and Your promise to never leave me lacking what I truly need.
