Joshua stood at the edge of a new chapter, staring across the Jordan into a land full of unknowns. God did not promise him an easy path or a life free of giants. He promised something better: His own presence, going ahead and staying near, no matter where Joshua's feet would carry him.
We often think courage means the absence of fear, but Scripture paints a different picture. Be strong and of good courage is a command given to someone who has every reason to feel small. The command works because it is tied to a promise—for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Courage is not self-generated; it is received from a God who refuses to leave.
Maybe today you are facing a hard conversation, a new job, an unfamiliar season, or simply the ordinary uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow holds. You do not need to manufacture bravery on your own. Look at where you are headed and remember that God has already gone there. Wherever your path leads today, He is not waiting for you to arrive—He is already present, ready to meet you with strength for the moment.
