Power Love and a Steady Mind

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

Fear has a way of creeping in quietly, whispering that we are too weak, too unprepared, or too small for what lies ahead. Paul reminded young Timothy that whatever spirit brings that kind of trembling, it did not come from God. The Lord's gifts to His children look entirely different: strength for the moment, love that reaches beyond ourselves, and a mind that stays clear and steady even when circumstances are not.

Think about what it means to carry all three together. Power without love can turn hard and cold. Love without a sound mind can become reckless. But when God's Spirit blends them in us, we become people who act with courage, treat others with genuine care, and think clearly under pressure. That is not something we manufacture through willpower - it is a gift already given, waiting to be lived out.

So today, when anxious thoughts rise, pause and remember whose voice they are not. Ask the Spirit to stir up the power, love, and clear thinking already placed within you. You do not have to face this day timid and unsure. You were given something better, and it is already yours to walk in.

Today's prayer
Father, thank You for not leaving me with a spirit of fear but filling me with Your power, Your love, and a clear, steady mind. Help me lean on these gifts today instead of my own worry. I'm grateful that Your Spirit in me is greater than any anxious thought I face.
