Taste Your Words Before You Serve Them

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Good morning, and welcome to Friday. The coffee is still too hot to drink, and the house is quiet enough to hear your own thoughts — a fine moment to check what's cooking in your heart before it reaches your tongue.

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."
— Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Lord, my strength and my redeemer, season my mouth this morning. Before I speak to anyone, let me speak to You. Take the words waiting on my tongue and the thoughts circling in my chest, and make them fit for Your table. Where I'm tempted toward sharp words, soften me. Where my thinking runs anxious or proud, steady me with truth. I don't want to just get through today — I want my words to taste like kindness, my thoughts to smell like peace. You are the One who redeems even my clumsy sentences. Guard my mouth, guard my heart, and let both bring You joy today. Amen.
