There is a hidden room in God that no storm can enter. Psalm 91 does not begin with a promise of an easy road, but with an invitation to dwell—to make your home—in the secret place of the Most High. It is not a location you find on a map, but a posture of the heart, a daily returning to the presence of God as your true address.
When the psalmist says, "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge," he is choosing his words on purpose, even before the danger arrives. Faith often works this way: we declare the truth first, and our hearts catch up to it. You do not have to feel brave to say it. You simply have to say it, again and again, until the shadow of the Almighty feels more real than whatever is chasing you.
Wherever you are today—in a waiting room, a noisy house, a quiet grief—you can step into that secret place. It is always open, always near, never crowded out by circumstance. Abide there. Let the fortress walls of God's steady love surround you, and let your spirit exhale into the shelter only He provides.
