The Lord Alone Keeps You Safe Tonight

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

The dishes can wait in the sink until morning. Your phone is dark now, and every unanswered message will still be there tomorrow. Let the list on the counter rest too — nothing written on it is bigger than the God who is holding you.

"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety."
— Psalm 4:8 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Lord, I lay down now, and I let go. My hands open, my shoulders loosen, my mind grows quiet. You are not asking me to finish anything tonight — only to trust you with what's undone. Guard this room, guard this house, guard the ones sleeping under this roof with me. When my thoughts wander back to worry, pull them gently home to you. I don't need locked doors to feel safe — I need you, and you are already here. Thank you for this day's breath, its small mercies, and your steady love that never once dozes off. Amen.
Blessing for your rest
May the peace of the Lord settle over this house tonight like a heavy quilt, warm and unhurried. Sleep now — you are watched over, and you are loved.

Have Providence read you to sleep
