Let the dishes sit in the sink till morning. The email can wait, the laundry can wait, the worry that followed you all day can wait too. Jesus said come — not come once you've finished, just come as you are, tired hands and all.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I'm tired. My body's tired, my mind's tired, and some of what weighs on me I haven't even named yet. You said to bring it to you, so here it is — all of it, laid at your feet. I can't carry it through the night and I don't have to. Take the noise of today and give me quiet instead. Watch over the people I love while we sleep. Thank you for a bed to lie in, for breath in my lungs, and for a Savior who never grows tired of me coming to him. Amen.
Blessing for your rest Rest easy now — you are held, you are known, and morning will come on its own time. Peace over this house, peace over your pillow, sleep well, beloved.
