Good morning, and welcome to Friday. Somewhere a kettle is starting to whistle, and the sky outside your window is doing what it has done every day since Eden — turning from gray to gold. Whatever kept you up last night, it does not get to keep the morning too.
"For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." — Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Father, I come to you as the light comes through the curtains — quietly, but unstoppable. Thank you that your anger is brief and your favor is long, that you do not hold grudges the way I sometimes do. Whatever weeping found me in the dark hours, meet it now with joy, the way dawn meets fog and simply burns it off. Teach me today that sorrow is a visitor with a return ticket, not a resident. Give me eyes to see your kindness in ordinary things — bread, coffee, a friend's voice. Let this Friday carry the lightness of a morning you have already blessed. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Name one worry from last night and release it aloud.
Thank God before checking your phone this morning.
Speak one word of encouragement to someone tired today.
