Before My Feet Touch the Floor

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Thursday slides a thin line of light under the curtain before the house wakes up. The kettle hasn't clicked on yet, but something in you is already reaching for more than coffee. Good morning — before you check your phone, check your thirst.

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is."
— Psalm 63:1 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Lord, before my feet touch the floor, my heart is already looking for you. You are my God — not someone I visit on Sundays, but the one I want first, before news, before noise, before breakfast. My soul is hungry in a way food cannot fix. Meet me here in this plain, ordinary room. Let me want you the way I want water after a long, hard walk. Fill this early hour with your nearness. Teach me to seek you first, not because you hide, but because I forget so easily. Thank you for turning toward me before I finished asking. Amen.
