The dishes are done enough, the emails can wait for morning light, and whatever you left unfinished on that list is already in quieter hands than yours. Let the hum of the house settle around you — the creak of the floor, the slow breath of the people you love nearby. You were held today, even in the hard hours, and you are held right now.
"When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet." — Proverbs 3:24 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I'm setting it all down — the worry I carried in my shoulders all afternoon, the conversation that didn't go the way I hoped, the tomorrow I keep trying to solve tonight. You don't sleep, so I can. You're already in the morning I'm anxious about, and You're here in this dark room with me now. Still my mind the way You stilled the water. Let my last thought tonight be a good one. Thank You for this bed, this breath, this day that You walked through with me. I am grateful, and I am Yours. Amen.
Blessing for your rest May the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps keep watch over you and every soul under your roof tonight — may your rest be deep, your dreams gentle, and may you wake knowing you were never once alone.
