Let the dishes sit in the sink and the emails sit in the inbox. The porch light is on, the doors are locked, and the list that chased you all day can wait on the counter till morning. Breathe out. You don't have to hold anything else up right now.
"Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day." — Psalm 91:5 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, my mind is still running through the day even though my body wants to rest. Quiet the noise in me. You said I don't have to fear the terror by night or the arrow that flies by day, so I'm handing You the worries I've been carrying since sunrise — the ones about tomorrow, the ones about people I love, the ones I can't even name. Cover this room. Cover this bed. Thank You for another day lived, for breath still in my lungs, and for Your arms wide enough to hold me while I sleep.
Blessing for your rest Rest now, under wings that never grow tired of holding you. No shadow tonight is stronger than the One who watches over this house — sleep well, and let morning come as a gift.
