Let the phone go dark and the dishes wait in the sink till morning. The calendar can keep its unchecked boxes; the day's noise is done asking things of you. Breathe out. Something wiser than worry is still working while you rest.
"I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons." — Psalm 16:7 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I bless You tonight for the counsel You've given me — quiet words dropped into ordinary moments, nudges I didn't earn but needed. Even now, teach my heart while my body rests; let understanding come the way dew comes, without my noticing. I release the plans I couldn't finish and the questions I couldn't answer today. I trust You to keep working in the dark, shaping wisdom in me while I sleep. Thank You for a mind You never stop instructing, and a heart You never stop loving. I lay it all down grateful.
Blessing for your rest May the Lord speak gently to your heart tonight and to every heart under your roof, teaching what daylight was too loud to hear. Sleep now — you are being taught, and you are being kept.
