Come Home, Weary Soul, and Rest

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Let the phone go dark and the dishes wait until morning. Whatever list still has lines unchecked can rest on the counter tonight, unbothered. The day is finished now, and so are you — you can stop carrying it.

"Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee."
— Psalm 116:7 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Lord, my soul has been running all day, and now it's time to come home. You have been so good to me — good in ways I noticed and good in ways I never saw. Thank You for bread on the table, for breath in my lungs, for faces I love under this roof. I let go of hurry now. I let go of striving. Call my soul back to Your rest the way You always do, gently, without scolding. Thank You for another day of Your kindness. Thank You for tucking me in tonight. I close my eyes grateful.
Blessing for your rest
Rest well tonight, you and everyone sleeping under your roof — held safe in the bounty of a Father who never runs out of goodness. Sleep deep, and wake to more of His kindness in the morning.

Have Providence read you to sleep
