Let the dishwasher hum finish its cycle without you. The email that could wait until morning will still be there, unchanged, unbothered by your rest. Fold up today like a napkin and set it on the counter — tomorrow will unfold it fresh.
"When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet." — Proverbs 3:24 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Father, my hands are empty now, and that's alright. I set down the phone calls I meant to return, the closet I meant to organize, the worry I carried since noon. You said sleep could be sweet, not just possible, not just survivable — sweet, like the last bite of something good. So I'm trusting that tonight. Let my breathing slow. Let my shoulders drop from my ears. Thank you for this bed, this quiet, this ordinary Tuesday full of small mercies I barely noticed. Thank you for another day lived, another night given. I'm grateful, Lord. Truly.
Blessing for your rest May your sleep tonight taste like honey on the tongue — simple, good, and entirely undeserved. Rest well, dear one, and let your whole house rest with you.
