Let the phone stay dark on the nightstand and the dishes wait till morning. The list on the counter can keep its ink till you wake. Breathe out the traffic, the meetings, the noise — none of it needs you right now.
"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation." — Psalm 62:1 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I stop reaching tonight. My hands open, my grip loosens, and I let my soul settle into you the way still water settles after wind. You are where my help has always come from, not from my worry, not from my planning. So I wait here in the quiet, unhurried, unafraid. Thank you for being near when I have nothing left to offer but stillness. Thank you for salvation that doesn't wait on my effort. Thank you for this soft bed, this steady breath, this ordinary evening held safely in your hands. Amen.
Blessing for your rest May your household rest tonight like a held breath finally released — safe, still, and sure that help is already on its way. Sleep now, beloved; the waiting is over and the morning is kind.
