Let the phone go dark on its charger, and let the sink hold its dishes till morning. The emails will wait. The worry that followed you through supper can sit in the hallway now — it isn't allowed in here.
"And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety." — Job 11:18 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I've turned every stone today looking for solid ground, and You were the ground the whole time. I don't have to keep checking underneath things anymore. You've told me plainly — I can be secure because there is hope, and hope holds. So I'm letting my shoulders drop. I'm letting my hands open. Whatever I couldn't finish, You'll carry it forward. Whatever I got wrong, You're not finished with me yet. Thank You for a bed to lie in, breath to breathe, and a love that never once needed convincing. I rest in You. Amen.
Blessing for your rest Sleep now, safe as a house with deep foundations — and may this whole home rest tonight under a hope that cannot be shaken.
