The Shepherd Calls a Halt to Hurry

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Let the day's engine finally idle down — the emails still waiting, the calls you meant to return, the small unfinished tasks scattered across your desk. None of it needs you right now. The Shepherd has already called a halt to your hurrying, and your body can believe Him before your mind catches up.

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters."
— Psalm 23:2 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Lord, thank You for making me stop when I would have kept pushing. You know how my thoughts race ahead of my feet, always chasing one more thing to finish. Tonight I set it all down — the plans, the worries, the small failures I keep replaying. You are not tired of me, and You are not in a hurry either. Slow my breathing the way You slow a nervous lamb. Let my shoulders drop, let my jaw unclench, let sleep come easy and deep. I am grateful — for this bed, this quiet, this whole ordinary day You carried me through. Thank You, Father.
Blessing for your rest
May the Lord still every hurried thought in you tonight, and may your household rest as sheep rest — safe, unafraid, and completely at peace. Sleep well, beloved; you are watched over.

Have Providence read you to sleep
