Sleep Like Someone Already Rescued

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Let the dishes sit in the sink and the last email stay unread until light comes. The day's noise can finally sit down too — the phone calls, the traffic, the small worries you carried in your pockets. None of it needs you awake to keep existing.

"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me."
— Psalm 3:5 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Lord, I lay this body down the way David did — tired, unguarded, trusting You more than my own alertness. I can't watch over myself while I sleep, and tonight I don't have to. You held the world together long before I learned to worry about it, and You'll hold it while my eyes are shut. Wake me when it's time, breath still moving, heart still counting its own beats without my help. Thank You for every ordinary morning You've handed me — proof, every single time, that You never once dozed off first.
Blessing for your rest
Sleep deep and unafraid tonight, you and everyone under your roof — the Lord who kept you yesterday is already awake, arranging tomorrow.

Have Providence read you to sleep
