Let the day's checklist go slack in your hand — the calls you meant to return, the errands still waiting can wait a little longer. The traffic noise, the meeting notes, the small frustrations: set them on the nightstand and turn off the lamp. You don't have to carry any of it into your dreams.
"Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life." — Psalm 42:8 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, thank You for walking with me through this whole day, steady even when I wasn't. Thank You for the ordinary kindnesses I almost missed — a warm meal, a familiar voice, a soft bed waiting for me now. Give me a quiet song tonight, something low and good that plays under my sleep. Let my last thoughts be prayer instead of worry, my breathing slow instead of racing. You are the God of my whole life, morning and midnight both. I close my eyes grateful, Lord — for today, for rest, for You.
Blessing for your rest May a quiet song settle over your home tonight, and may you wake tomorrow still held in it. Sleep well, beloved — the God of your life is not sleeping.
