Friday light is coming through your window right now, thin and real. Before the phone, before the list, before the noise finds you — here you are, asking God to speak first.
"Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee." — Psalm 143:8 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Father, I am here before the morning takes me. Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness — not as a distant idea, but close, like a voice I recognize. I trust You with what today holds, even the parts I cannot see from here. Show me the next step, the right word, the door I should walk through and the one I should leave closed. My soul is lifted toward You the way a face turns toward warmth. Guide my feet on ground I have not yet crossed. Let Your mercy be the first thing that shapes this day. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Sit quietly for five minutes before checking anything.
Ask God before deciding one uncertain thing today.
