Monday morning, and the front door is waiting for your hand. Pour the coffee, tie your shoes, gather your keys. Whatever ground you cross today, you do not cross it alone.
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." — Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, You told Joshua to be strong, and I need that same word today. I don't know every step ahead of me, but You do, and You are already standing in it. Take the tightness from my shoulders. Take the worry from my chest. Where I feel small, remind me You are large. Where I feel unprepared, remind me You go before me and beside me and behind me. Let me walk into this day with my head up, not because I'm fearless, but because You are faithful. Wherever this Monday takes me, You are already there. Make me brave. Make me glad. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Walk into one hard task without flinching today.
Speak one kind, courageous word to someone anxious.
Notice God's presence in an ordinary, unremarkable moment.
