Fill My Cup Before the Day Drains It

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Thursday sits quiet on the counter like a cup waiting to be poured. Before the kettle whistles or the phone buzzes, come close and fill what's empty in me. Let this be the hour mercy gets there first.

"O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days."
— Psalm 90:14 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Lord, satisfy me now, before the day makes its demands. Pour mercy into the hollow places — the tired mind, the guarded heart, the worry I haven't named yet. Don't let me run on yesterday's portion. Give me enough gladness to carry through traffic, meetings, small disappointments, long lines. I don't want to chase joy at sundown when I could have received it at sunrise. Fill me now so I have something to give away later — a kind word, a patient answer, a steady hand. Let this day, and every day you give me, be marked by rejoicing that started with you. Amen.

Today, on purpose:
