Saturday light comes in soft through the curtain, no rush behind it. Somewhere a kettle ticks as it cools, and the day hasn't asked anything of you yet. Sit here a minute before the list starts.
"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, I woke up and I am still here — not swept away, not burned out, not undone by everything that pressed on me yesterday. Your mercy held the line while I slept. Thank You that Your compassion doesn't run dry like an old well. It refills before I even know I'm thirsty. Give me eyes today to see Your faithfulness in small, plain things — a warm mug, a friend's voice, a job still mine to do. Keep me from carrying yesterday's ashes into this new fire. Make me patient with slow people, gentle with tired ones, and grateful the whole day through. Amen.
