Friday morning, and the light coming through your window has never touched the earth until now. Sit with your coffee a minute. Let it warm your hands before the day asks anything of you.
"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, thank You that You did not hand me yesterday's leftovers this morning — You gave me something new. My failures didn't run out Your patience, and my weariness didn't wear down Your care. Before I open my messages, before I make my lists, let me remember: You are faithful in ways I can't manufacture on my own. Steady my hands for ordinary tasks. Soften my words toward the people I'll meet today. Where I feel behind or worn thin, remind me that You supply what the day requires, exactly when it's required. Let me walk into Friday unafraid, held by a faithfulness older than my worries and newer than my sunrise. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Say one honest thank-you before checking your phone.
