The kettle clicks on, the window goes gray to gold, and Monday leans in close. You didn't have to earn this hour — it was simply given to you, like a hand held out before you asked for help.
"O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble." — Isaiah 33:2 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, be gracious to us. We have waited for you through the night and we wait for you now, coffee cooling, shoes untied. Be strong for us today — not someday, but this morning, in the meeting, the traffic, the phone call we dread. When trouble knocks, be the door that holds. When we feel small, be the reason we're not afraid. Thank you for waking us up. Thank you for another ordinary Monday to walk with you. Steady our hands, soften our words, and let your grace go ahead of us into every room we enter. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Whisper 'you are gracious' before checking any screen.
